RULES GOVERNING SUBMISSION AND ACCEPTANCE OF ABSTRACTS

  1. Abstracts should not exceed 200 words. Abstracts longer than 200 words will need to be resubmitted for consideration.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted electronically using the form below (no snail mail). There is no abstract submission fee.
  3. The corresponding author must be a member of PAS in order to submit an abstract.
  4. One person cannot be listed as the presenter on more than three abstracts.
  5. Once the Program Committee has accepted an abstract, it cannot be withdrawn.
  6. The Abstracts will be published in a supplemental issue of the Journal of the Pennsylvania Academy of Science that will be mailed after the annual meeting.
  7. Any abstracts received after February 10th will not be published.
  8. Authors will be notified when the abstract is received. If the abstract is accepted, the time and place of the presentation will be printed in the February PAS newsletter and posted on the PAS website.

PREPARATION OF ABSTRACTS

The abstract should contain a statement of the problem being investigated, the methods used, the important results and a conclusion.

  1. Abstracts should not exceed 200 words.
  2. Please use Times New Roman size 11 font.
  3. Attach the abstract as a MSWord or formatted text (.rtf) document using the following format: Authors in bold (Last name first of the first author only and asterisk after the presenting author), addresses, title (italicized) and abstract (single spaced).
  4. Please model your abstract on the following example: Sample Abstract
  5. Improperly prepared abstracts will be rejected.
If you are interested in presenting at this year's symposium, Ecology and Conservation of Pennsylvania's Bats, please contact Sandy Whidden (hwidden@esu.edu). The symposium will be held on Saturday morning.
